At least symbolically that's is that something that that is notable that today is effectively said that. On the is going to win the nomination and then he really only going to try to amass delegates and states that have already been decided that its its conventions strategy state by. I stayed trying to get people to you ought to be his delegates but he didn't go to the convention. So then if people have views on same sex marriage and it doesn't it they don't agree with the the candidate that they are supporting it's it's probably not the driving force that gets them to their voting Booth. Perhaps not an for some people it didn't maybe it's just not that it's going to be an overwhelming majority area and strong number at least that is looking at the polls today. Is part is getting people and motivating them to vote for candidate.    President Obama's gay marriage move lots of reaction to it this morning Eddie fill up White House reporter for Politico dot com is with us on the WB in my planned morning how much of a political gamble is this for President Obama. Period for me like Colorado Florida North Carolina he is where. There are a lot of these voters and the margin Obama are gonna be pretty slow them. So I think well by and large it I I think it's hard to tell at the moment. it was gonna go for and on the one hand you've got young voters gave voters. The liberal voters very very excited about it on the other hand there's a lot of uncertainty among those independent of people who. We're kind of on the fence about and Andy and made it summer and it's a result of this. Fairly controversial. How big of a surprise was it for use silliness plugged in and in you know tends to have maybe some better idea than the rest of us what's going to happen with the president when he just kind of made this announcement drop like a bomb for most people. But yesterday I think a lot of people. Saw this telegraphed and and if you haven't lighthouse in the car for the president. You'd be used. Probably see the telegraph for quite some time. The terminology that evolving that Obama's gonna have all on that issue is a very clear signal that at some point they wanted to get it out. The question was always what are. And I think that it it became very clear that they can have to do you know lend our presidential pardon statement in support of same sex marriage over the weekend. It would. It up clear now that the campaign and I am an Obama staffer did not wanna make an Until much later in the year perhaps Italy as the Democratic National Convention. What are the pluses for him on this the stance when the minuses. I think it is you know I think you gay right advocates have been hammering him for a long time on the issue. And frankly get dumped from political damage I'm out on his own supporters among liberal. We felt like he. For and issued is a moral significance to that. And by making that he's getting back to a police eakins can he can make an argument to voters And he is a afraid eagle leader back and and that he's. Defining politics as usual I heard people who want to support him on the other hand there that the who believe the same sex marriage is it violation of their religious belief in the White House is very very hard to. Some people are saying that this is just another a long line of distraction from the real issue for most people the economy. It. Do you get that sense or is it was it more earnest and honest than that. And certainly different. The White House would prefer to talk about the economy if they don't wanna wait you look actually damaging political conversation. What are they don't know what the outcome it's going to eventually be. On the other hand. You know I think there a lot of people out there who want to have the conflict he didn't think that this is a civil rights connecting to the probably can't really that. the first as the first black president you very. And their. You. Who issued our moral conviction and I think that's in his announcement you made it clear that they took one of those issues for him personally. That after talking life in his daughters in the land but it became questionable whether the right thing to do was back intact marriage. I think the president in particular how to track it.
