The New York Post this morning in a column by Fred Dicker is quoting people including former state GOP chair William Powers predicting. That president Barack Obama will dump Joseph Biden as vice president. And then turn to Andrew Cuomo to be his running mate. Let's kick that are a little bit with someone who might be able to help us out. Kevin Hardwick the professor -- colleges here in the political science department good morning -- Morning David what do you. Well. Next year Barack Obama many. Or may not be reelected but I doubt it'll have anything to do with Joseph Biden as his vice president Ali I don't see anything in this story I'm not sure why it's surfaced. Other than it's something to kick around the the day after the fourth of July. Yeah I you know shuttling Kevin Andrew Cuomo and reality is still sort of a honeymoon. Honeymoon period New York's that he doesn't have much time to do much I mean he has had accomplishments. In gay marriage bill and on time budget but the -- just getting started. -- yeah exactly I mean I think he has a lot left that he wants to do was governor -- New York certainly being governor of New York is a lot more exciting than being vice president of the united. States although if he's looking for a four year vacation I think vice president of the United States is probably as good as anything. I guess I just don't see it and from from and Obama stand point. Why eight bit number one I don't think vice president gonna make any difference of whether he gets reelect Internet. But number two if you if you're looking to enhance the ticket why would you pick someone from New York. A state that everybody knows it's going to go for Barack Obama next year. It's you know it's if Obama loses New York. He's that -- have to worry because he's already lost the presidency. How hard would it be for President Obama campaign on optimism and doing the right things. If he kind of admits that things have been going well and dumps is BP. Yeah well -- I think that's another good point David it it's just take a distraction that he doesn't need it it's it's it's a negative mood. I'm -- to negative move and you know it's like this say this story makes no sense at all to me. You know Cameron is being a vice president these days less of a launching pad to becoming president hasn't used to me. Well it. Is is it's it's it's he he he it's better than nothing I mean it's it's a nice it's a visible post you're you're always in the mix. You know former vice president have had a a decent track record of of gaining the White House but so have governors. You know I think I think governor is just as good if not better especially -- state like California lake -- like Ronald Reagan. Or for that matter in New York I think Cuomo and unless he -- an iceberg. It's going to be into the the the the mix in four years. But you know for years a lot can happen I mean from almost in point the only reason he would take it is you know -- had a good year. Percent of our -- from from the -- perception lies. So far new York and maybe he'll he'll what -- -- ahead. But I don't see that happening that your again I'm not sure where this story came from. Okay they have the post is quoting William Powers former state GOP chair. And also Willie Davis on San Francisco of them at least predicting that this can happen but I hear what you're saying you're you know a lot more skeptical Kevin thanks. -- Kinesis college political science professor Kevin Howard were on the WB in my mind.
