-- news radio 930 WB ES. Great land should be everything you did this to me a land where a man is paid a wage he can live on a land where we -- every time. A land where seventy miles is not walking distance. Lam -- meals I'm not purchased from a truck and then eaten in a different track. All right all right major point. He's getting a little offensive. That's okay. Each person listening. -- -- There's news to me can. -- you know. Both radio studio six locals aren't games on balance I think he made his gentle fun. About a dozen news radio 930000. Gosh -- couldn't play. -- look at -- and well apparently I forgot my -- and throws my goodness an area today after -- -- hourly and his radio 930 W. UB BN that joke is that after control. Gleefully munching away at what looks to be a surprisingly. Wholesome launch for GO looks like -- actually Brownback today looks like wheat bread that I've seen in some cheese. Good for the protein and it looks like to meet the is in your hands. And then there's -- sandwich. Which you can and its. We're gonna get into a lot of things today WBB and that. On this program first of -- it makes for great show yesterday guys because you know it's only is I don't mean for this to be self indulgent and all but it you know. I don't care if the dude is thirty or forty years your first show back after vacation. I dread. Seriously I could be doing this for 100 years and the -- -- week in the come back and try to do a talk show. In the night before there's still that feeling like are still have a -- I -- doors still got it. And that you guys made it easy yesterday and -- thank you very much person and it's a brilliant topics which were conversation starters but you you you took the bait and and that is good and diaper you're. It crossed. Joseph does not eat trust what you guys have mom slightly off the crust. You make this -- why don't you slice up the -- before a cure all. I've learned something about -- today by the way he does not -- trust. Who'd. But anyway you know a sponsor here at WB and actually we're quite a few but one of them is that the north tower automotive group. And I want to thank the people over export were just excellent service yesterday in -- usually like to bitch about people. Because that makes much better radio -- saying nice things about people. But my inspection sticker on my Jeep was overdue. Now I don't mean to get it to a whole monologue there's no reason given global monologue but suffice it to say. The past couple months have been kind of hellish for your humble host I've been dealing with things around my house. That that nobody should ever ever ever have to deal I feel was on my privacy invaded -- -- -- a -- has been invaded. And I don't really want to get into any further than -- Other than to say I'm kind of feeling likes engine com. In the 1970s with lock step FBI surveillance but that now in a the FBI it's the privatize but. It's been a hellish month that's what this is all boiling down so anyway long story short. I was unable to get my feet hit goal inspected. On time. So yesterday I said you know what this this is not easy I'm the guy who always reminds people get their vehicles inspect so without an -- stop by north town. And the nice guy at the service desk is famous Tommy handles VW usually. He was -- -- explain the situation he was able to squeeze me in and the beat -- goal was ready by 7 o'clock and I just wanna thank the people over -- -- for -- mean it's a ten dollar thing it's not like you're making money off the deal but they understood the circumstances. And they were very very kind in giving meanders so they cover much -- the door down and you know what they would -- they had no idea I don't think they even -- That he's able radio has final poll that cardinal play that card. Tom I just I don't. Unless I absolutely have to deal without a play that part I told you about. Which was when I had to complain about the lack of response. By the state police to -- driving situation and I told you what I played how likely that and why -- played it because it was in context of the show. But I don't exactly go around with a big WB -- teacher pay up to up because that would be just stupid and arrogant and dumb. And I can be stupid and arrogant and -- without. -- -- AT shirt on the -- Rush Limbaugh. You know I love Rush Limbaugh I really do I I. Understand in so many ways Rush Limbaugh but then insult anyways sometimes he'll go off on a tangent -- it's just it I don't understand. Because folks for months. Rush Limbaugh has seemed like a guy who finally got it. In terms of rush the Republican Party -- not your friends rushed the Republican Party if they had their way would squash you like a buck because you were making them look bad because the Republican Party is not really a Republican Party at all it is simply a Democrat -- party. So ratchet up in this care against the Republican elite. But he's spent months talking about the disconnect between the republic Italy and the people who believe as you and I believe. So today I'm driving into work now please keep in mind I love rush but sometimes I don't give him. -- drive to work today and I'm listening to this. At least half hour monologue. Basically on his knees in front of George W. Bush talking about. What a wonderful man and it's. And what a guy he adds and the bush presidency and how -- -- that underestimated. I'm thinking to myself rush. Hell hole. George W. Bush. Is part of the Republican establishment. You'll ever attacked in four months. Folks I will never again vote for a bush I will tell you that if I had a choice between Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush I'm voting for Hillary Clinton. That's how much ID -- the bush family and that the Republican establishment. Of which the bush family is a huge part. I was just I was stunned and I was disappointed and I was saddened to hear rush basically. Doing a soliloquy. A romance -- basically sick lot so long to George W. Bush who to me is emblematic of why the Republican Party is the failed party that it is and I honestly I did not understand it. And I just I I I find myself shaking my head. I'm not gonna argue that I'm sure George W. Bush is a nice guy. There's a lot of nice guys I know a lot of nice guys but the nice guy does not mean that you. Are qualified to be president or are going to be a good president there were many things that George W. Bush did in office that I I think -- -- But nonetheless. OK -- -- -- -- can you name any single person. Who is damaged the Republican brand more than George W. Bush because I can't. To me George W. Bush single handedly took the Republican brand and ran it into the ground. And one of the ways he did that was by not fighting back against critics. Now -- can call class -- and call it preserving the dignity of the office but rush is clueless. To the extent that. He apparently does not get the fact that politics is blood sport. And if you're gonna enter that world you've got to be ready to deal with people. And defend yourself and defend your record because if you're not gonna stand up for yourself as George Bush did not stand up for himself. Then why would anybody else stand up for. Why would you get involved in a street fight on the side of somebody who doesn't wanna fight that does not make any sense to me. And that is one of the big reasons I believe -- the Republican brand was run into the ground George W. Bush. Because everybody was saying all kinds of crap about a -- eight years he was in office he did not respond. He quote unquote took the high road folks in politics there is no such thing as the high road. And one of the things that you are of the Tea Party and those of you were still clinging to -- Republican Party identity they've got to realize is that politics is a street fight. Politics is a gang fight there is no quarter you're raised the black flag and you don't stop until your enemy is at the bottom of the ocean decomposing this fish food. That's politics. George Bush apparently rush never up that. Folks look at how the Democrats operate. And I said this before and this -- good drives me crazy but there is there are certain things that I really respect and admire about the Democrat party. Specifically they know what they want. And they are rootless. Ruthless. In achieving their goals the Republicans including George W. Bush. Are not. The -- to a -- they dropped to spoiled. They grew up to. Hobbled they don't understand what street fighting is all about icy street fighting and using that as a metaphor for politics. -- politics is a dirty disgusting filthy business and it's not for everybody and if you don't have it in you to fight. Like your life depended on every single day. And the challenger enemies and to attack your enemies with equal venom to that with which they're attacking you you've got no business in in that business. And George W. Bush sorry but he. He he's the an upset as before when he was in office George W. Bush made a very fatal mistake in his presidency which I believe ultimately will cause the death of the Republican Party and that is George W. Bush -- -- His opposition. His opposition to define him without ever raising a finger to defend himself. I'm sorry but that's not a way to be a politician that is not a way to be a leader -- Teresa and Margaret Thatcher. -- Ronald Reagan -- would not have done what George Bush did and basically turned turtle. Whenever they were checked. You gotta fight back you have to and you gotta fight -- dirty. And it's not like George W. Bush didn't have the assets at his disposal to fight dirty. -- let's not forget at one point he was the chief executive he had all the guys in the CIA on his side all the people an -- on his side and he had the military right wing power structure at his side to get walk the dirt if you wanted to use -- But he chose not to. And I think that is to his lost and frankly I think -- to the country's loss. And I just I think it's a damn shame. So I just you know. I was soul happy. I was thrilled when rush finally. Finally. Gave me some signs that he was -- -- with the Republican Party and was gonna start challenging the Republican lead. And he's been doing that for months and weeks and weeks and months and yet today he does this homage to George W. Bush. And again there is no better representation. Of the FBE lead Republicans snobs then the bush family. It's just made no sense to me. But I guess it beats hearing about a ports -- others. I love rush please don't. Miss understand I'm not jealous of rush I love rush I would love to give rush a big -- when everybody was after -- over the Sandra Fluke thing. I wrote him a personal note that was forwarded to -- by mutual friend. And I said you know what I'm on your side and -- I I love you I will always what. I -- I still love rush but sometimes I don't get him. I'm not indict Rush Limbaugh. I'm simply saying that I don't understand. From where he is coming went on the one hand he goes after the -- of the Republican Party. But on the other hand. He basically praises a guy who is the poster child for that very same establishment against which he's been railing for months and months and months now I've learned my lesson. And that's why I ditched the Republican Party. Because it it it's pointless. When you've got John Boehner. Who is the speaker of the House of Representatives. When you've got him castigating the Tea Party people. I think that's insane. The inside the beltway crowd you know lot. They don't get the Republicans don't understand what erupt again it's. I don't know what it's gonna take to wake these clowns up but they don't get it. The Tea Party people. Now look you can you can call key beggars those -- view on the left which basically tells me what your preferences. There's anything wrong with that but. For as much crap as the Tea Party has taken. Let me just give you some reassurance those -- you like me have had up here with the Republican Party have headed up the here with the George Bush's of the world. Let me just give -- this. You of the Tea Party and frankly this is a surprise to me. I was not expecting the Tea Party to have the kind of longevity. And the growth that it is experiencing I thought it was going to be a flash in the pan movement that was just gonna go away after a few months I was wrong on the only time in my life I have ever been wrong. Never before -- ever committed an error an assessment. But that was the once I actually did it they can put that in the books but those of you or the Tea Party people. Where the libertarian people were kind of Tea Party which. And there's so many areas were weakened coalesced by the way to libertarians and the conservatives. There are so many areas were weakened -- agreement. That we can be a major player and a major force in American politics if we've got people who know how to play the game and if we have leadership that understands that the minute you start to grow the infiltrators -- to try to get off track. But again you know I'm talking about stuff that apparently the political brains and nerds and walks of the world just don't get. Mean they can name every single member congress they can name every single US senator -- exactly which committees. Are their committees but the fundamental truth of American politics in fact the fundamental truth of leadership politics around the world right now and it always has been. The willingness and the ability to street -- And again when I say street fight I'm not about chains and spiked clubs are talking about. Words I'm talking about ideas I'm talking about not letting your opposition defined. And unfortunately. The Republican Party doesn't get that. But those of you in the Tea Party I think you need to be very proud of yourselves at first all the leaders say the Tea Party is a political part. You know that right it is a label affixed to those of us who are bitterly opposed to the new Republican Party. And absolutely appalled by what is taking place in the country right now with the Obama dictatorship. -- that's what this is about. And you can be very proud of yourselves that you were drawing fire from not only the left wingers but also the people in the Republican Party. Folks when you are attacked by the so called establishment Republicans end. The left you are doing something right. And you know why you're being attacked so much and I can tell you this from personal experience you are being attacked as a Tea Party person you know -- Because you scare them. That's why. They are scared wit what's over the Tea Party. They don't want you to start thinking critically they want you to go along. They want you not to be a bump in the wrote. They don't want your ideas they have no use for he'll either the left or the right. So those of -- of the Tea Party. I want you to be very proud of yourselves. I really do. Because you. Are a force that is going to be growing that you were a force that is gonna have to be reckoned with you are a force that is being attacked. From every single side. When you were being attacked by everybody you know what that tells me you're doing something right. When you what you are equally despised. By the left. And by the establishment Republicans. You know what somebody once told me the fire is always heaviest when -- over the target. Tea Party you are over the target to not let these tablet but Republicans bring you doubt do not let the Democrat liberals get you down. You have the right ideas you've got the right stuff. Do not allow yourself to be pigeon -- do not allow yourself to be defined by the opposition Tea Party you keep doing what you're doing except let's step on the accelerators -- more because dammit this country needs a giant king -- coast to coast -- And only the Tea Party is gonna bring that about as it ain't gonna be the Republican Party. It's that the Republicans are dead to me and upset that a million times the of the Tea Party is Smart and I think it is. If the Tea Party wants to win if the Tea Party wants to grow if the Tea Party wants to attract followers it must not let itself be defined by the opposition and furthermore it must fight. -- that's key do not do -- George W. Bush. Don't just let your enemies define you don't just sit there up passively and possibly analog your enemies to run rough -- over your ideas and insults you've got to fight back. You gotta fight back with everything you've got. And people like Ross Thompson and Carl Paladino and everybody you've heard on my show talking about this kind of stuff. Basically you've got to double redouble your efforts to fight back against the establishment Republicans. And against the left -- Don't -- George W. Bush the -- and be alert from the George W. Bush presidency is simply this do not. Allow yourself to be defined by the people you are a threat to. Were to whom you -- a -- do not allow that to happen and when you were attacked. You gotta fight back but what if what if on December 7 1941 the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor an FDR said. Well I guess our oil embargo. I got the oil embargo had something to do with that we must come to the table we must meet the Japanese in the mental. We -- compromise. All. FT are no Democrat. He understood. An attack is an attack is an attack and if you're gonna be attacked -- all you've got to declare war to I want to see the Tea Party people declare war on the opposition. Unlike George W. Bush. Wrong. Yeah. -- reminds -- vacation. It is at 330. -- terrific at playing the song over and over again 333. Inch at the news radio 930 WB EM I -- you're gonna get my amount a little harder director. Anyway. Well it is I think it's a good to be back into going to be doing productive things and them. I wanna get into the politics thing later on all up. If you guys noticed but you know the most recent Colorado shooting you know. That little pit -- killed himself. You know why because he was confronted with -- armed security guard that's why. Folks the answer. To school shootings. Is more guns not less guns every single time. One of these not cases as they gun and their intent on doing violence. Every single time. They will always offer themselves. Upon the appearance of an armed a culture. An armed opposition armed appalled so that's why this -- killed himself. Because even wanna be warned it. -- in wanna be shot by somebody else. So co -- the security guard. And kudos to those who. And who respect the idea that the only solution. And this is a universal truth folks the only solution to a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun and the star. Do you think that major. This has Tom. Would have stopped shooting heading up and taken out by an armed guard. You kill and kill the kill and run up the body count. And I just don't understand the life of we took us a little yesterday. Why it is that when somebody kill somebody in a drunk driving accident we focus on the driver of the car. Or the BMW SUV. We focus on that person yet one person uses a -- to kill. We focus on the -- and not the person pulling the trigger. It is illogical it makes zero sense at all and the story. So kudos to the security guard who made sure. That the the shooter was -- able to go on a mega body Rampage. And it does take a ponies to confront somebody with a weapon even if you got one. And as -- once famously said I'll paraphrase. The key to winning a gun fight is not to be fast the key is to be steady. I'll say that again the key is not to be fast the key is to be steady. You shoot too fast you're gonna miss the target unless -- some kind of a trick shot which I am not very good shot the -- a trick shot. But I've learned something about shooting and I learn something every time I shoot and that is that it's. If you take the extra second to focus on the target. Chances are your only gonna need one round to terminate the threat. To just to make sure to double capped -- -- body mass which I would. No I wouldn't I wouldn't chart the head shot too many people try to hedge if you go set their body mass. Even if there weren't a best you're still gonna knock the wind out. No it's not the movies you're not Clint Eastwood you don't shoot the gun out of the guys and what he's gonna rape the girl. Only Clint Eastwood can do that and only in the movies. So anyway. Just remember this folks the key. To dealing with a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a -- and the answer is not fewer guns the answer is more guns. Now it is something else here that I think is a worthy worthy news story how you take a daily vitamin. Anybody. I've been taking a daily vitamin for years I think it's centrum. And please no wise -- comments about how now which you probably be centrum silver bite me. After shot after shot up. But but anyway I found out now and you about that these daily vitamins apparently waste them. Daily multi vitamins are a waste of your hard earned Brett. The New York Times reports that one in two adults takes eight daily vitamin pill. And we spend tens of billions with a beat tens of billions of dollars every year on supplements now. Eight coterie of physicians writing in a leading medical journal has offered this blunt advice stop wasting money. The five doctors said that were healthy Americans worried about chronic disease there is no clear benefit to taking vitamin and mineral pills and in some instances they may even cause harm. The authors made an exception. For supplemental vitamin. Which they said needed further research even so well. Widespread use of vitamin. Four other vitamins and supplements the doctors say the case is closed. So let me just -- go back and put this in the layman's language if you take a daily multi vitamin you're basically. Urinating away money. Vitamin. Now I combined. Effect where the notion. Matt multi vitamins a waste of money or I can buy into that are actually care although I have to tell. That with a multi vitamins what are the things I've noticed about taking them is my hair grows faster -- I really need that and seriously fifty years old not a single bald spot and very few -- thank you very much thank you thank you and that's all genetics by the way but. The multi vitamins absolutely positively I've noticed an increase growth rate of fingernails in here so there's that. But. The vitamin. And I'll type it here in Western New York there are many positions. Equally as talented as those who wrote this piece. Who maintain. That vitamin. Our good you know why because we don't. Get enough sun. In Western New York now if you live in Jamaica you don't need vitamin. I think it makes perfect sense to take this sunshine vitamin supplement or to make up for the the the vitamin. The generation of Williams. So. Curious. How many have you take vitamins and where do you think they're any good or what do you think barrel waste of money and they started -- The original Flintstones kids they're probably in nursing homes now after all -- ten million strong and growing. Gonna get the Flintstones they're the Flintstones vitamin add their -- you to sit back enjoying digesting your self made sandwich and throwing out the cross. -- others kids of Ethiopia who would kill for that -- joke there are starving children in China. Working at assembly lines making sneakers that would kill for that trust mr. Bieber ought to make -- they'll make you feel -- -- -- you -- that -- out of that waste basket and you start -- the -- understand which which you so gratuitously threw away. So vitamins folks. Maybe got -- as a child. By an -- like this. -- And. Only one children's vitamin comes to complete the -- Flintstones kids. When Karen can you kid's life. Flintstones with the vitamins and minerals kids need and that things in the world now that but I can't complete. All of an acute boys and a little effect every single one of those kids -- -- to be met that I don't know I read that somewhere so it's -- to be all right I'm just about the magnetic part. Our folks don't. Vitamins yes or no. Now this comes frankly -- fortuitous time for your humble host because I have just run out of my centrum vitamins or -- -- or by wegmans knockoff of of -- centrum vitamins. And that -- it. That's like if you get a enough vitamins -- look at what the 1213 fourteen bucks. And that's 1213 fourteen bucks at that could be spent in other places. Do you do vitamins and had they made a difference in the York help. Or if you don't to a multi vitamin every day. Are you doing vitamin. SAD. As in David because I just wanna make it clear that's the vitamin about which we are speaking now interestingly ladies and gentlemen I'm -- confide something -- here. No it's not herpes. I wanna compliance confide something -- -- And that is -- over the past three to four months I have been taking a vitamin. And maybe it is the placebo effect I don't know but the vitamin. For me. I think it has made a difference. I think that for whatever reason. And again I don't discount the possibility of a placebo effect. In other words give somebody something and they automatically think that because you're giving it to them it's gonna make a difference in the lives. But I think I feel better when I have vitamin. You guys I'm I'm genuinely curious are you a believer in vitamins or do you just think it's hocus pocus. Now these five doctors who wrote this piece. Are basically saying the case is closed on multivitamins. Wasted time waste of money. Vitamin. What do you know. Is it exercise. Is it watching your diet what is it. And you know for as much as I bring up the question today -- abroad adopted. About what you do to stay healthy and whether or not to take vitamins and whether they made a difference in your life. There's always the story. And you know people who've gone down this road and I apologize if this is bringing up any bad memories for anybody. But don't we all know somebody who was one of these health freaks here at the gym four days a week. They were eating granola and court costs that was their diet. Rough which granola court costs and a minimal amount of protein usually taken as tofu or Thomas. And they die when they're in their forties. To the runner Jim fix the hearing as mr. fitness is quietly keel over and as early fifties. I'd negatives ever you'll given for grape nuts. Ideal -- great -- and he checked out before his time. And this reminds me of what are the other great universal truths. Bet I definitely have embedded in my brain which users. Unfortunately it is an -- correct the -- situation there's nothing you can do about it. If you want a healthy and long life. And this was told to me by buffalo cardiologist doctor David dean over twenty maybe thirty years ago. He said if you want a long and healthy life be sure to pick your parents well. If you want a long and healthy life be sure to pick your parents well. And I have to type this up. Experience. Has told me and has demonstrated to me that people with bad family histories of health. Probably -- going to be unhealthy no matter what they do. People who lived to be 100 years old and never even catch a cold. Help chances are their parents were the same way. Mean do you believe that if you're going to be healthy. There's just so much you can do. There is only are only so many roads you can traveled down as an individual making choices for yourself. To counteract. The impact of genetics and your family tree and I got to play in my family history but my family genetics -- Big time. I I got the short end of the straw no pun intended when it comes to genetics. Every conceivable possible thing. That that is -- likely inherited thing I got. I'm not bitching it's just the way it's a life as a lottery to genetic lottery. May think that's crazy talk because I don't. 803 on my thirtieth the phone number 8030930. Start -- thirty on the cellphone. 180616. WBE and they should be and could be fun so let's have fun. I'll bring in the clowns they'll make balloons in the little animal shapes. Here's the exclusive WB EN AccuWeather forecast for those labeling it it's going to be cloudy lake effect snow amounted to two to four inches -- shifting south of the city overnight overnight low 21 tomorrow. Wednesday -- cloudy windy flurries and a heavier snow shower and thirty right now 25 degrees 25 at the news radio 930 W. BE and so called last night I even had Hayley -- sleeping in the basement. No because if there's a certain point at which I bring her inside to say here honey have some war she was very content being in the basement last night meant when it's too cold for me with a coat -- too cool for her we offer. All right let's get back to the calls here is Joseph in Irving Cella Joseph vitamin or not. You know what I think it's hereditary lifestyle. You're born everybody's got bad genes there for longevity here but based on lifestyle to. And I think -- Via my -- which has something that they make you feel good about it but. You know you'll Gibbons and purple kids you know. Purple carrots. And just. Say good -- joke. I think that was innocent enough to let that one go by right. I got it. Thank you thank you very much I'd make -- comment about skin and seeds but that would just be wrong. Here is that. -- -- -- Certainly Matt Light I was invited but once I was like you know 1928. Emperor -- -- thirty years. And I still got prostate cancer in 48 at the technology that this vote about it. Well. Talk to me about your family history. Are you know -- my father and I were not an apples are but he added that stops. -- they they didn't didn't I didn't like that. And -- That was basically the banquet yeah I would divided guide dog. But the history right at that come up -- won't work I did at the -- which is great and I'm up antibiotics dubbed the god but the right it is stock. I don't I took a grabber that I still don't really look back. Okay what other. Others got a curious -- as a guy who obviously took good care of himself. If a guy who wanted to prevent prostate cancer at 48 coming -- with prostate cancer what did your doctor site as the pause or the ideology. Of your particular cancer. They don't really know unfortunately that there are -- they get things like that and what you're talking about our genetics and and the luck of the draw it was one of those kind of things there was there was no particular cause. And I would just a lucky thing and actually found out that I had a simple. Well you know it's what's interesting too when I wish I understood more about genetics and and how some bad genes or or some bad affects genes can stay hidden in the background for dozens hundreds of years and then suddenly reemerged. I mean if you know what in in my own family. There are some of us to look Asian and some of us who don't. And I wonder why is that why did that particular trait show up in me and my kids but it didn't show up in my other brother. And all right well I'm glad that you were on the -- did they take care of everything and everything's within normal range. I don't and the -- we promise -- seniors out some great and everything still works okay. -- all right you you know -- basket right I don't know I chargers and it got but it in the dike level you know that when. I mean I was really really important. Well how to detect by the way your prostate cancer was it to mr. pinky or was it the a PSA test. It was a PSA test but yet they went up a little bit and the guy as well you know nobody is okay let's go to a biopsy. And so they do a biopsy which is the most one of those horrible they treat you live with that and -- sixteen shot to the bank of the prostate and they do it in a quadrant. And a couple of Mike Mike Roberts came out. Accurate and unfortunately it was aggressive and open up my agent would have been -- I didn't editor -- solve that won't let that was the deal. But it's like changing I would recommend anybody yet that you can do about it but it is yet another new video that can't fidgety date which is that. Well all right -- -- thanks very much for making me wince and -- I'm I'm happy -- -- I didn't do anything and the belief that. -- think remaining the.
